I offer trainings –– for therapists of all experience levels –– focused on integrating Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) and sex therapy.
Ready to support couples more fully? Emotional connection and sexual intimacy are inseparable parts of a healthy relationship, and yet, many therapists feel unsure how to address both in session.
In this training, you and your clinical team will:
Understand the interplay between emotional bonding and sexual satisfaction
Integrate sex-positive, trauma-informed sex therapy techniques into EFCT
Address sexual concerns in all stages of the EFCT change process
Reduce shame and increase openness when discussing sex with clients
Support clients in building secure, satisfying emotional and sexual relationships
What You’ll Learn
In this live training, you’ll gain practical clinical tools, frameworks, and language that you can use immediately in your practice. Specific trainings can be tailored to you and your clinical group (inclusive of all skill and training levels), but a general outline of what can be covered includes:
Sex therapy general overview
Desire discrepancy & attachment dynamics
Assessment: Including a review of real questions to integrate into your intake forms and assessment

About your trainer
Olivia Provan, LMFT, is a certified EFCT therapist and AASECT-certified sex therapist with over 12 years of clinical experience. She is passionate about helping clinicians feel more confident and competent in addressing the full spectrum of intimacy challenges that couples face. She has extensive experience teaching and leading trainings including as an adjunct instructor with the University of San Francisco’s graduate program in clinical psychology, mental health trainings for the San Francisco Sheriff Department, and general workshops about psychology and wellness (including mindfulness, self-compassion, and stress management) for several fitness studios.
